Kate Hayes is a creative writing student at Smith College. She previously attended Bates College, where she edited poetry for Snaggletooth Magazine. She served as a reader for Nine Syllables Press‘s 2025 Chapbook Contest and is currently working as an intern at the Boutelle-Day Poetry Center.

Kate’s work is published in or forthcoming from Snaggletooth Magazine and storySouth. In 2025, she was named the recipient of the Alice Jane Dinsmore Wandke Award from Bates College, granted to a woman in the first-year or sophomore class for excellence in creative writing.
